Mr. Lawrence focuses his practice in complex commercial, contract, business, real estate, and environmental litigation. He has extensive
experience litigating state and federal environmental claims, including groundwater
contamination, natural resource damage, and product liability claims. He also has experience in environmental, land
use, and permitting, zoning, due diligence, easements, adverse
possession, supplier/distributor agreements, and a wide variety of other
commercial and business matters. Mr. Lawrence is licensed to practice in the State of
Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the
United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He has been admitted to practice on a pro hac vice basis in complex civil and
commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts ranging from New York
to California. Mr. Lawrence graduated with
distinction from Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he was a Senior
Associate Editor of the Law Review. He
received his undergraduate degrees from Michigan State University’s James
Madison College in International Relations and Political Theory
Constitutional Democracy. He is
a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Litigation and Environmental Law
Sections, and the Pretrial Practice and Discovery and Environmental Litigation
Committees. In his (very infrequent) free time, Mr. Lawrence referees professional, college, and
amateur soccer as a United States Soccer Federation certified National Referee. He has regularly refereed in the NCAA tournament, and he is President of the Michigan Intercollegiate Soccer Officials
